Design

Explain the problem your embodiment is addressing in terms of Sensory Design (this can be grounded in your sensory design approach). What is your approach?

Sensory Design – finding your point of difference
Touch base with your sensory design approach and consider the experiential research you have undertaken
Does this need to be expanded, revised or limited in its scope of investigation?
What is achievable and what is most important to your project?
What have you discovered that you didn’t know before?

My design embodiment focuses on concretizing some of the cell-shaped hallucinations I experienced during my first-week experiment of showering with closed eyes. Starting from this point, I aim to showcase the world experienced by an individual with ADHD in a highly visual manner. It's easy for us to obtain abstract visuals through various sounds and tactile sensations. Moreover, during conversations or lectures, thoughts often transition from a concrete point to various other items, similar to a mind map. In my embroidery work, I portray numerous elements dispersing from concrete points to different places, resembling a mind map.

This design is not meant to be practical but rather a representation of my memories and synesthetic perceptions, all while embracing the identity of an ADHD individual to reconnect with the world and express different sensations. It serves as a means to heighten my connection with the world, illustrating various sensory experiences and thinking patterns characteristic of ADHD. Through this design, I aim to not only enhance my own self-understanding but also encourage others to gain a deeper insight into the sensory experiences and thought processes of individuals with ADHD. This experience allows me to better comprehend myself and fosters greater empathy and understanding of ADHD individuals among others.

Feedback

Considering the top seam finish (Baby lock makes the garment look like unfinished, so it is better to leave the raw edge and double fold the neck part

the Skirt is too tight for fitting model, and the volume of the side design is too heavy and hard to sew on the basic skirt, can do the fusing on skirt or use thick fabric instead.

Boning too thick!

lining and facing to finish the skirt edges, no double roll finish
